On Friday, March 17, 2023 shortly before 8:30 p.m. the Stratford Police Service received a report of a male masturbating while peeping through the window of a residence located on Forman Avenue, in the City of Stratford.Â
The male was observed outside of the window by two teenage females who were inside the residence with a toddler.Â
The homeowner confronted the male after contacting the Stratford Police, causing the suspect male to flee from the scene. The male was followed by the homeowner to the area of Stratford General Hospital where police then tracked the male to a property on West Gore Street.Â
The suspect male was identified as Greg Verellen, a 45-year-old resident of Stratford, who was known to police.Â
Verellen was arrested shortly after 9:00 p.m. and was transported to Stratford Police Headquarters. At the time of his arrest, he was found to be in possession of approximately 1.5 grams of Methamphetamine. Verellen was subsequently charged with Committing an Indecent Act, Voyeurism, Breach of Probation X2, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.Â
Verellen was held in custody to attend a bail hearing from where he was released on a Judicial Release Order and is required to re-attend court on April 3, 2023.Â
Of note, Verellen is also currently charged with the offence of Arson from an incident that occurred on January 19, 2023; as well as another indecent act that occurred on January 20, 2023. Verellen is required to attend court on April 3rd for these offences as well.Â
